Update (Last day of April)

I updated the below post with more shows and an updated intro essay. It applies to music and video games, videos, applications, text, intellectual property, whatever. It’s important and a lot of stuff I am writing on here no one talks about. Dave Matthews sings, “…and these crimes between us grow deeper.”

I’m thinking about a new mix for next week as I type and listen to ‘Black Messiah’ by D’Angelo.

TV Show checklist

These are shows that got me through some downtime overseas. I haven’t watched much in several years except for a handful of movies. My goal is to buy or pay back value in some way to these show I cut corners to view while unavailable in foreign countries to stay current with what the Americans were streaming on TV usually. Some of these I have bought, gifted or purchased only to donate or sell to pawn shops. While piracy has been a concern since the availability of the internet, not many people understand the effects to your own life until it is too late or it overwhelms them under tremendous burden. Sometimes we are not sure where it is coming from, it may be just the angels or demons that leave us or vice versa. Jesus forgives us for our sins, but we need to repent actions to regain our life’s vibrancy. On my current mission, I feel like it is my responsibility to warn younger generations about all sorts of unauthorized duplication or even legal streaming services. You pay for what you get and sometimes the owners or other spiritual forces may make you pay in ways you didn’t know existed (I guess I am testing that now in my extended mix break, though the variables may be paying with credit cards and volunteer promotion). I have been paying for this stuff and other mistakes from a period in my life that was not free of suffering, but at times blissful in it’s ignorance. As Mark Knight talked about in his podcast several years ago, some records or tracks were simply not available at any price. He was insinuating or explaining the price we pay from our souls as music makers or DJs. I ask for forgiveness from every spirit and human for either not paying or contributing in ways I should of or what I undervalued and took for granted. In my search over the years for solutions to this problem, I have been attending church and praying regularly. I share my love and passion on this site and am trying to give it back so I have no regrets when I am on my deathbed. Many of us have been close to death, but haven’t been shown the other side as I believe I have been cursed and blessed to experience (both the terrors and the hope of a place after death that isn’t a prison for souls). I was near to a natural death from many different lifestyle choices, but was nearly killed several times which convinced me I was allowed to live to change not only my life, but to share it. I am a private person and don’t enjoy the concept of fame for myself anymore though I will try to express to you in this outlet the most I can in the future. Another reason to pay back into certain forms of entertainment or free services is for Karma or reaching towards enlightenment in this life and beyond. Besides religious reasons these creators may appreciate the momentum or new energy to make additional seasons and episodes, material or be able to pick up on failed or underfunded projects. Successful stars of shows or those that worked on the total vision may realize fans to connect with they never new existed for something else entirely groundbreaking.

Below is a list of my favorite shows I miss and will still strive to earn my way to a point where I feel worthy to have spent time on or to spend time with them again. These are different reasons I have not been publishing weekly music mixes as my debts must be kept manageable to stay alive. Practically speaking I am currently more of a music promoter and community service worker in order to earn my right to stream music. I will think about dividing these up into categories and try to form themes that present them better to you and at the same time wanted to share this list for those who have reached different plateaus. Reward yourself for healthy lifestyles, responsible living or successes. We can be too hard on ourselves and make our lives miserable or feel guilty for other reasons and I don’t think that is purpose in life.

Mix in the Making #6

With most of the DJ scene grieving, I am posting June’s homework early. Seems like I am posting these early every month, but this time I was really going to wait. One DJ that was and is always pushing the style boundaries and reaching new places with me back when I listened to his podcast regularly and now on Soundcloud is Laidback Luke. My friend in Russia, a young doctor/student at the time made me listen to Luke later. Andrey and I met on the street after a concert in St. Petersburg where I saw DJ Gira. I followed her podcast, while she was doing that, after discovering it when I moved back to the States. Anyways, a lot of this list ends with tracks from Mixmash Records and OTW. They are effective for me right now. I rediscovered his trail while recently checking up on all my VIP DJs which you can find on this page. I guess we all have to find new ways to dig when we reach a dead end or some rut online as many of our record stores and CD shops are closing. World travelling DJs just can’t haul around a huge collection, so unless there is an alternate dimension where shops crate out a collection to mix on stage with shock absorbing record players, I don’t foresee it being beyond local niches. I’m also using my unresponsive label list, Pitchfork and radio leads. I added a book find of the month and I’ll update the links of the month section at the end for stuff to click on while your listening to other than instagrams.
